The Cumulative Book Index is an international bibliography of new publications in the English language. All the bibliographical information necessary to identify a book is provided: full name of author, complete title, date of publication, edition, paging, price, publisher, ISBN and Library of Congress card number.
In addition to bibliographical information, the Index also provides subject headings to describe the contents of the book. These headings can usually be determined by an examination of the table of contents and a reading of the preface; sometimes a careful examination of the text is necessary. Books must have at least 100 pages and a minimum press run of 500 copies to be eligible for
inclusion in the Index.
A listing in the Index gives your publication valuable publicity.
Subscribers include most of the major libraries and booksellers around the world. No charge is made for a listing, but in order to record your book accurately, the publisher, The H.W. Wilson Co., needs a copy of the book. Wilson will also list your book in the Vertical File Index (see listing later in this chapter). Send books to Cumulative Book Index, H.W.
